Camping

Camping with Cub Scouts is a family affair. We enjoy two overnight campouts, one in the Fall and one in Spring, at a nearby campground. In addition to the thrill of spending the night in a tent, Scouts get the opportunity to go on hikes, play field games, go fishing, eat dinner cooked over an open fire, and of course, make s'mores!

Pinewood Derby

The Pinewood Derby is a Cub Scout tradition dating back to the 1920's. Cars are carved out of a block of wood and raced on a track. We focus on participation and good sportsmanship with trophies to the fastest cars and the best designs.

Raingutter Regatta

A perennial favorite, the Raingutter Regatta is simpler to fashion than the Pinewood Derby. These small boats, propelled only by puffs of air, are raced down a length of gutter to victory!

Soapbox Derby

Our Scouts maintain a fleet of Soapbox Derby cars and we close out our Scouting Year with the HillBilly 500 on the streets of Verona. It's a block-party style affair and the entire town is invited!

Model & Water Rockets

Building and  launching water bottle/model rockets fosters a Scout’s creativity, initiative, and sense of wonder.

Hiking

Engaging the Great Outdoors is a hallmark of Scouting and we don't shy away from the opportunity to get outside and learn how to safely explore the incredible parks and trails in our area.   See Pack 31's Hiking Club Program guide for more information!

Adventures

Cub Scouts work with their peers and leaders on adventures that are appropriately designed for their age. Scouts are recognized for the adventures they complete as they earn the appropriate badge of rank their grade level giving them a sense of pride and accomplishment.
